AMPHORA
The amphora is one of the oldest vessel forms known to humankind, used for millennia to hold and carry what sustains us: wine, oil, water, grain.
For me, the amphora symbolises an inner world, echoing the subconscious. To look inward is to confront what lies hidden; to look outward from that depth is to see the world anew. A passage of introspection and contemplation.
I find meaning in making that inner space visible. The amphorae are flameworked in borosilicate glass, their openwork structure leaving truly nothing hidden. They become honest about what they hold, or do not hold.
